FIVE YEARS AGO: R & B treat for fans

THE Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival got off to a cracking start in Colne.

New signings to the Code Blue label, set up by legendary producer Mike Vernon, were at the fore with both The Hoax and Sherman Robertson giving excellent performances.

Lonnie Mack, the Texan guitar supremo, headlined and brought the night to a rousing finale.

Converted for the new archive on 14 July 2000. Some images and formatting may have been lost in the conversion.
