Arts award for student

AN East Lancashire student has been formally recognised for excellence in the Performing Arts at the UK Skills Competition Awards Ceremony.
Daniel McLaney, from Burnley College, was one of the winning competitors presented with a medal by Fame Academy's David Grant.
Daniel won a Gold Medal in the Level 3 Performing Arts Competition. The awards celebrate a variety of skills, from hairdressing and beauty therapy to photography and journalism.
MP Ivan Lewis said: "Taking part in competitions is an excellent way of developing skills. The winners should be rightly proud of their achievements."
