WE are 24 parents from Higher Broughton and Kersal in East Salford with children currently attending, or whose children hope to attend, Prestwich Arts College (PAC); a school now designated for closure by Bury Council. We wish to voice our objections to this proposal as follows: Flawed consultation process We feel that the consultation process was seriously flawed from the outset. The first we heard of any closure was in a letter home which invited us to choose which of two high schools in the area, Prestwich or Parrenthorn, should be closed. We do not feel this is a fair or appropriate way in which to begin a consultation of parents few parents would be likely to vote for the closure of their own school!  more...
