Sweet tribute to John

From the Bury Times, first published Saturday 25th Aug 2007.

BURY Cancer Support Centre has paid tribute to a businessman who has helped to raise money for the charity.

John Slattery, who runs Slattery's Patissier and Chocolatier in Whitefield, has held six high teas in aid of the centre in the last two years.

Each event was attended by more than 60 people, bringing the total raised by Slattery's to £1,300.

To thank John for his hard work, the charity produced a certificate of appreciation and presented it to him.

Maureen Crosby, from Bury Cancer Support Centre, said: "We had a beautiful certificate made to present to John because he puts on a fantastic show. There's a slideshow on the history of Slattery's and he passes round tasters of the chocolates. Everyone enjoys the events."
