Youth, 16, arrested after BB gun fired at train

A 16-year-old male from the Blackburn area has been released on police bail after he was alleged to have fired a BB gun at a train leaving Rishton station.

He was arrested on Saturday at 1.40pm following reports that two youths were firing shots at packed carriages on a train heading for Preston.

A second 16-year-old male from the Blackburn area was arrested but was not charged.

British Transport Police are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and ring 01772 551244, quoting incident 276.
