Vans go up in smoke

Arsonists caused damage worth thousands when they targeted four new vans in a dealership compound.

Fire crews were called to the Ford dealership, Gordons, in the Horwich Loco Industrial Estate in Chorley New Road at 1.40pm following reports of a blaze.

The discovered four vehicles, all of them brand new pre-registered vans, had been set alight.

Two of the vans were large transit vans and two were smaller vehicles.

Three other vans were also damaged by the fire.

Police officers and fire crews are now investigating the cause of the blaze.
