Gem of an appeal by Guide Dogs

THE Guide Dogs charity has launched an appeal for unwanted jewellery.

The Treasure Hunt recycling scheme needs old jewellery, watches, keys, foreign coins, banknotes and mobile phones for The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.

It will replace collecting used stamps, which will be accepted until the end of 2007.

A spokesman said: "Donations will be gratefully received to help blind and partially-slighted people regain their independence."
