Couple cut free from car after smash

A COUPLE had to be cut free from their vehicle after it crashed into a wall near a busy junction.

The couple's Ford Fiesta struck a wall on Billinge End Road, near the Billinge traffic lights on Preston New Road, Blackburn, at around 4.50pm today.

Firefighters from Blackburn station used specialist cutting gear to free the couple from the Fiesta.

The couple, thought to be in their 60s, were taken by ambulance to the Royal Blackburn Hospital for treatment but their jnjuries are not thought to be serious.
