Minus The Bear announce Manchester date
From the The Bolton News, first published Wednesday 29th Aug 2007.
SEATTLE'S Minus The Bear will release their third full-length album, Planet Of Ice, through Undergroove on September 10 with a headline tour in December.
The follow up to 2005's Menos El Oso, Planet Of Ice nurtures a bold stylistic shift towards progressive and psychedelic rock.
Loaded with hooks and pop sensibilities this new album is the perfect marriage between the band's signature sound and experimental pop.
Minus The Bear were formed in Seattle in 2001 by former Botch guitarist Dave Knudson, bassist Cory Murchy, and drummer Erin Tate who eventually recruited vocalist/guitarist Jake Snider and renowned producer Matt Bayles (Mastodon, The Blood Brothers) as keyboardist/sequencer.
Bayles left the band to concentrate on his production work in 2006 but is still very much involved, having produced Planet Of Ice. He has been replaced by Alex Rose.
They play Manchester Academy 3 on December 13. Tickets cost £10. To book, visit www.gigsandtours.com or ring 0871 2200 260.
